About The Position

This part-time customer service role is based in Round Rock, Texas. The associate gives customers immediate and complete attention by explaining, demonstrating, and selling woodworking supplies and tools. When not assisting customers, the associate maintains the sales floor through facing, dusting, and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools.
• Ability to understand customers’ requests and determine how best to respond to their needs.
• Ability to understand situations in which a merchandise return or refund can be authorized.
• Extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Ability to be a team player, outgoing, approachable, and congenial when interacting with customers and other associates.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to personally lift up to 50 pounds regularly and participate in team lifting.
• Takes initiative and is an excellent team player.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail sales experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly as they enter the store and acknowledge customers encountered in the store.
• Handle retail sales of company products, answer questions about product applications and use, and ring up sales using the POS system.
• Show customers related products and services they may need for their projects as part of a “Total solution.”
• Maintain and merchandise the store to keep displays neat, orderly, well stocked, and appealing.
• Handle customer refunds and prepare required documentation in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Refer customers to other sources when the store does not carry the specific item, with the intent of building goodwill for Rockler Companies, Inc.
• Assist with unloading trucks, pricing, merchandising, and other duties as assigned.
• Attend work during scheduled shifts.
