Woodworking Machine Operator
About The Position
Closets by Design is seeking a motivated Woodworking Machine Operator to join its growing team as a shop assistant. The company designs, manufactures, and installs custom closets, home office furniture, media systems, wall beds, garage cabinetry, and other home organizing systems. The role involves operating woodworking machinery and hand tools, understanding company products and production standards, maintaining equipment, and contributing to quality and safety in the shop. Additional tasks or projects may be assigned by the Production Manager. The position offers $18 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, with no weekends and no required overtime. Tools and equipment are provided. The company also mentions paid time off, free food and snacks, training and development, and an open-door policy with the owner.
Requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior woodworking experience is preferred but not required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in woodworking or cabinet-making, preferably with 32mm systems.
- Experience with woodworking equipment and hand tools.
Responsibilities
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Understand company product lines, machinery, assembly standards, and installation techniques.
- Follow quality and safety standards.
- Maintain shop equipment according to an established schedule.
- Understand cut lists for daily jobs.
- Complete additional tasks or projects as defined by the Production Manager.
