About The Position
The Wood Assembler performs tasks involving cutting, shaping, and preparing wood products for final use. The role requires following instructions to complete work safely and efficiently, working with little supervision, and remaining calm in a busy workshop. Woodworking experience is preferred but not required; the employer will train the right person, though training will not be paid.
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate websites for information.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks safely and quickly.
- Ability to work with little supervision and stay calm in a busy workshop.
Nice To Haves
- Woodworking experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Work with saws, drills, grinders, sanders, and other equipment.
- Cut and shape wood products according to instructions.
- Adjust machines and machine tools to ensure proper operation.
- Clean work areas and tools after each job.
- Inspect machines and tools for defects or scratches.
- Maintain a clean working environment and keep the work area organized.
- Report issues or concerns to supervisors or managers.
