About The Position

The ETSU College of Nursing, Office of Practice invites applications for a PRN Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Floater to support multiple nursing clinics. The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) provides advanced primary and women's healthcare services in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act. This role is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic health conditions, while delivering comprehensive gynecologic, reproductive, and low-risk prenatal care across the lifespan. The WHNP maintains accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters and clinical services provided. The Nurse Practitioner provides supervision and guidance to assigned clinical and support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient care environment. Participation in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities is an essential part of the role, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. A strong commitment to health equity and the needs of vulnerable and underserved populations is central to this position, reflecting the clinic's mission and values. This is a floating position that provides coverage at multiple clinic locations as needed. Employees report directly to their assigned clinic each workday. Travel reimbursement is provided only for travel to Hancock County. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent based on organizational needs, funding, and employee performance. Permanent employment is not guaranteed.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with preparation in women’s health.
Current unencumbered license as Registered Nurse in Tennessee or compact state.
National certification in appropriate area.
Certificate of fitness to prescribe.
Experience as specified for each position.
Current NEXPLANON REMS Certification (Insertion and Removal), or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of experience in advanced practice nursing (FNP, ANP, PNP or other specialty as required for position.)

Responsibilities

Providing advanced primary and women's healthcare services in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act.
Assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic health conditions.
Delivering comprehensive gynecologic, reproductive, and low-risk prenatal care across the lifespan.
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters and clinical services provided.
Providing supervision and guidance to assigned clinical and support staff.
Participating in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
Providing coverage at multiple clinic locations as needed.
Providing comprehensive well-woman care, including annual gynecologic examinations, cervical cancer screening (PAP tests), clinical breast examinations, contraceptive counseling, and ordering appropriate preventive screenings, including mammography.
Assessment, diagnoses, and treatment of common acute and chronic health conditions.
Adhering to recognized standards of care.
Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
Organizing and setting priorities.
