About The Position

This role is for an OBGYN Nurse Practitioner with a preferred expertise in fertility to implement a pilot program. The position is for immediate availability for 6 months, with a possibility of extension. The work environment is administrative within a hospital/clinic framework. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the option for weekend shifts. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with Reproduction & Infertility teams to develop pre-consultation strategies for patients before their appointments with REI physicians. Initial tasks include administrative support and outreach via phone and telehealth, triaging patients, and creating personalized support plans for their fertility journey. All initial patient interactions will be virtual, with potential for clinic coverage based on site-specific needs. Candidates must be adaptable, patient, and willing to engage in strategic and creative processes. Presence is required at the Downey Independence location. There are no call obligations, and patient volume is variable, with all engagements being virtual. The Electronic Medical Record system used is EPIC. Credentialing takes approximately 60-90 days.

Requirements

• Board Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Active California Nursing License

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Reproduction & Infertility teams to formulate a strategy for pre-consultation processes for patients prior to their meetings with REI physicians.
• Provide administrative support coordinating with the Patient Information team to conduct outreach via phone and telehealth platforms.
• Triage patients who may not require immediate physician intervention.
• Devise tailored plans to support patients throughout their fertility journey.
• Conduct all patient interactions virtually in the initial phase.
• Potentially provide clinic coverage depending on site-specific considerations and role scope.
