About The Position

Under direct supervision of the WIC Admin Services Program Coordinator, performs a variety of duties in the WIC clinic to include direct supervision of the WIC Administrative Team at the Colleton and Holly Hill Health Departments. Collaborates with all disciplines and administration to assure effectiveness and efficiency in provision of services in a culturally competent and customer friendly environment.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
  • Ability to type at a corrected rate of 35 WPM.
  • Some positions require a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and instructs WIC team members on proper WIC guidelines. Maintains audits, conducts training, maintains training records, and EPMS' for individual staff. Provides and documents feedback and appraisals.
  • Provides culturally competent customer service while greeting and conducting interviews to public health clients in accordance with the WIC program and agency policies and procedures. Answers telephones and schedules appointments as necessary. Processes information, completes medical records and enters all client information into applicable electronic applications or SCWIC systems as mandated. Ensures that staff complies with program and agency guidelines for issuance of eWIC cards in the SCWIC system and Farmers' Market benefits.
  • Follows established guidelines around customer service and cultural competency, ensuring staff adhere to WIC Program Customer Service Complaint procedures as outlined or directed by the region and State Plan.
  • Attends relevant program and agency training and meetings. Ensures necessary materials and resources are available for administrative staff. Prepares and submits required reports as mandated or requested.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
