About The Position

A WL UT Operator is responsible for performing the NDT inspection method in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring that all materials inspected meet the quality standards set by SeAH Steel USA, LLC. This position will require working within the organization’s goals and team structure and contribution to the Overall Safety Program.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry.
  • At least Level I certificate on EMI, MFL or EC.
  • Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry.
  • Familiar with requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A.
  • Successful completion of pre-screen drug test and physical.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
  • The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
  • The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Level II certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and properly run WL UT equipment.
  • Organize and report results of WL UT test.
  • Accurately fill out/record applicable paperwork.
  • Perform all applicable inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A and API.
  • Separate pipe that needs further evaluation (prove-up) ensuring material is properly segregated.
  • Provide training to other NDT inspectors.
  • If he/she is certified with a level I, he/she needs to report to another Inspector level II for acceptance/rejection of material.
  • Confirmation that real weight agrees expected weight.
  • Check that all WMS machinery is properly serviced before starting up.
  • Assists in repair and replacement of WMS equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
  • The employee is responsible in assisting with documentation and or technical devices for recording production and findings.
  • WMS equipment calibration.
  • Communicating to Supervisor any problems with material and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
