About The Position

SLB is seeking a proactive, safety-focused WL Field Engineer to join its Wireline team in Midland, Texas. The role leads the technical execution of wireline operations, ensures reliable service delivery, and supports customers throughout the job lifecycle. It involves operational planning and field execution, maintaining safety, quality, and performance standards, contributing to complex wellsite operations, engaging customers to support business growth, guiding less experienced field personnel, and driving continuous operational improvement.

The position requires effectiveness in demanding operational environments, strong customer relationships, and sound technical judgment. The successful candidate will execute and provide technical leadership for field activities, collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams, verify compliance, assess and address operational risks, review results, and mentor junior personnel. Frequent travel to remote operational locations is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States without company sponsorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of experience in wireline field operations, including direct involvement in job execution and customer-facing service delivery.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex wireline operations in land and/or offshore environments.
• Strong understanding of wireline technologies, wellsite operations, and industry safety practices.
• Experience in operational risk assessment, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to provide leadership and guidance within field-based operational teams.
• Strong communication, customer engagement, and relationship management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently to remote operational locations.
• Legally authorized to work and reside in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Execute wireline operations safely and efficiently while meeting customer expectations.
• Lead technical decision-making during field activities and provide operational guidance at the wellsite.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to support successful job planning and execution.
• Maintain compliance with company, regulatory, and operational requirements through field verification and adherence to established standards.
• Develop and strengthen customer relationships by providing technical support and promoting service excellence.
• Identify operational risks, troubleshoot field challenges, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Review operational results and drive continuous improvement efforts in support of service quality initiatives.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers and field specialists in developing technical and operational competencies.
