We invite a compassionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Withdrawal Management Specialist for our program. This role involves coordinating and monitoring patient activities, as well as managing the daily operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum of HS diploma or GED.
  • Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) certification or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of the hire date is required.
  • Prior experience with the substance misuse field, providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling.
  • Solid communication skills and basic computer skills are required.
  • CPR and First-Aid certification (the agency will cover the costs for initial training and renewals).
  • Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana testing), a comprehensive background check, and a TB test.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate Degree or a Bachelor's degree in human services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs as needed.
  • Conduct intake screens and assess potential patients to determine their eligibility.
  • Obtain pertinent information regarding patient drug/alcohol use, medical and social history, and patient needs.
  • Provide information to the agency physician regarding medical issues and medication clearance, and monitors medication according to operating policy and the physician’s directions.
  • Provide case management services to all patients enrolled in the chronic withdrawal management program.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions.
  • Complete necessary paperwork.
  • Monitor patients throughout the shift.
  • Assist in medical/mental health treatment referrals and informs supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of the typical withdrawal management functions.
  • Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.
