Registered Nurse, Withdrawal Management - 815 Residential Services
About The Position
HealthRIGHT 360 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Our mission is to address systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity. We offer a diverse range of services, including mental health care, residential and outpatient substance use treatment, and primary health services, along with transitional support for individuals re-entering the community. By integrating physical and behavioral health, we aim to empower individuals to overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery. The 815 Residential and Detox Program offers a fully integrated approach to substance use disorder and mental health services. It goes beyond co-location or cross-training to provide effective services tailored to individuals with co-occurring disorders. The program treats both conditions as primary, helping participants understand key reciprocal factors such as self-medication strategies, physiological and psychological changes from long-term substance use, and the impact of drugs on mental health symptoms.
Requirements
- Active registered nursing license in CA.
- BLS Certification.
- Experience and interest in working with safety-net populations.
- Experience in treating substance use disorders.
- Experience working successfully with issues of mental health.
- Experience working successfully with issues of criminal background.
- Experience working successfully with other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment.
- Knowledge of clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.).
Responsibilities
- Clinical monitoring of Withdrawal Management clients.
- Lead a team including licensed nurses, medical assistants, and SUD counselors.
- Support the provision, education, and adherence to Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) in collaboration with the Addiction Medicine team.
- Oversee Drug Medi-Cal documentation compliance, including documenting medical necessity of WM services.
- Oversee the ongoing training of WM staff, including quarterly skills-checks.
- Oversee medication storage, disposal, and control in the milieu.
- Monitor patient medication use and mitigate risk by flagging high-dose medications and potential interactions to the Director of Addiction Medicine.
- Triage and provide complex care coordination for all clients accessing healthcare services internal and external to HealthRIGHT.
- Participate in matters related to performance and quality improvement.
- Create and ensure adherence to protocols.
- Assure organizational readiness for accreditation surveys and ongoing monitoring and reporting of conformance to quality.
- Support the interpretation of best practice standards to implement into daily processes.
- Coordinate and consult with appropriate department heads within the agency to facilitate integration between programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
