About The Position

Cates Control Systems is hiring a full-time, on-site Wiring Technician in Plano, Texas. The role wires electrical components on control panel backplates and enclosures according to wiring schematics, ensuring wires, labels, colors, and terminations meet quality standards. The technician reviews electrical drawings for discrepancies, completes checklists and documentation, tracks job time, marks drawing changes, keeps the workspace organized, and collaborates with teammates to deliver quality control panels.

The position pays $18–$22 per hour. Employees may choose between two shifts: 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Availability one Saturday per month, from 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., is expected. Overtime pay is available for eligible hours worked beyond 40 hours per week, in accordance with applicable law.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics, with two years of experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Dependability and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to stand and bend for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of control panel wiring experience.
• Two years of hand tool experience.
• Familiarity with UL 508A and NEC.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical components on control panel backplates and enclosures using wiring schematics.
