About The Position

New Way Trucks is seeking a Wiring Technician to join its manufacturing team in Booneville, Mississippi. The technician installs wiring and electrical components on garbage truck assemblies, including preparing wire looms, mounting lights and switches, and wiring finished products. The role requires following specifications, work orders, and established practices; inspecting and testing completed work; and maintaining component inventory to help prevent production delays. The technician works with 12-volt DC electrical wiring, operates a forklift to move truck assemblies, and uses a crane to set assemblies on chassis. Additional duties include adding reflectors to cover sheets, maintaining an orderly work area, and operating equipment safely.

Requirements

Good communication skills.
Math skills and a good understanding of fractions.
Ability to read and understand schematics and technical documents.
Ability to understand and work with 12-volt DC electrical wiring.
Ability to operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Prepare wire looms, mount lights and switches, and wire finished products efficiently to support production.
Follow specifications, work orders, and established practices to maintain product accuracy.
Inspect and test completed work for function and appearance.
Maintain component inventory to minimize production delays and order needed components through Purchasing.
Work with electrical wiring, specifically 12-volt DC systems.
Operate a forklift to move garbage truck assemblies.
Use a crane to set garbage truck assemblies on chassis.
Add reflectors to cover sheets.
Keep the work area clean and orderly.
Operate equipment safely and report hazards to the Safety and Maintenance departments.
