About The Position

Join Apple’s Wireless team to test next-generation Wireless SoCs and help deliver high-quality functional products. The team includes software and hardware engineers with experience in areas such as cellular modems, connectivity solutions, device drivers, CPUs and caching, kernel programming, and embedded systems. The role supports an advanced lab and spans the full development cycle, from silicon through products. Work closely with designers and architects to understand functional blocks and their use cases. Develop, debug, and integrate tests for integrated wireless chipsets, complex digital interfaces, power management subsystems, and wireless end-to-end stress testing. Exercise functional blocks to their limits, investigate issues found during testing, and collaborate with other organizations to bring tests into pre-silicon environments. Partner with hardware design engineers to debug silicon issues, architect and test frameworks that scale to test racks and large-scale testing, and support product development builds locally and remotely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • At least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded software.
  • Experience with hardware/software interaction.
  • Familiarity with computer, system, or SoC architecture.
  • Experience with or interest in writing code to test I/O devices and/or functional units.

Nice To Haves

  • Assembly language programming skills.
  • Familiarity with bench debug equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs.
  • Knowledge of digital logic fundamentals, including timing analysis, state-machine debug, and/or RTL/test-bench development.
  • Basic WiFi or Bluetooth protocol knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Work with designers and architects to understand functional blocks and their use cases.
  • Write, debug, and integrate tests for integrated wireless chipsets, complex digital interfaces, power management subsystems, and wireless end-to-end usage stress tests.
  • Push functional blocks to their limits and debug issues surfaced during testing.
  • Work with other groups and organizations to bring tests into pre-silicon environments.
  • Work with hardware design engineers to debug silicon issues exposed during testing.
  • Architect and test frameworks that scale to test racks and large-scale testing.
  • Support product development builds locally and remotely.
