About The Position

Rexel USA is seeking a Wire Cutter to join its Platt team in Patterson, California. The role is responsible for accurately and efficiently fulfilling wire and cable cut orders using material-handling equipment and wire reeling or coiling machinery. The employee ensures wire and cable are stored, staged, and cut in accordance with company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The employee may also fill in for other warehouse roles. Pay depends on experience, knowledge, and capabilities.

The role requires contributing to a safe work environment, following established procedures and environmental health and safety rules, operating and checking equipment, examining wire for defects, fulfilling and verifying orders, staging shipments, and reporting damaged equipment or infrastructure. The employee may be assigned other duties. The job requires the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation, provide effective customer service, demonstrate integrity, and work productively as part of a team or work group.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of wire-cutting experience preferred.
• Prior warehouse or distribution center experience is a plus.
• Certification to operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of radio frequency scanning devices preferred.
• If required to make deliveries: valid driver's license; at least 21 years of age; pass pre-employment and annual motor vehicle record reviews; obtain verification of a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire; no driver's license suspension for a traffic accident or violation within the past 3 years; and no at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture focused on employee safety and a safe work environment; follow standard operating procedures and environmental health and safety rules, and address safety concerns promptly.
• Perform daily machine checks and safely and efficiently operate material-handling and powered material-handling equipment.
• Retrieve and cut wire efficiently and accurately for customer shipments; examine wire against specifications and remove defective pieces.
• Fill orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Load specified wire reels onto machine payout spindles, thread wire through feed rolls, and adjust machine controls for factors such as wire thickness, pressure, heat, and cutting and stripping length.
• Stack and store merchandise in appropriate areas and stage wire cuts in the appropriate shipping area.
• Meet the minimum standards for wire-cut accuracy and productivity under current company policies.
• Immediately report damage to electronic hardware, work machines, or pipe racks to a supervisor.
• Fill in for other warehouse roles and perform other duties as assigned.
