About The Position

The Wire Cutter measures, cuts, verifies, packages, and stages wire and cable for shipping and warehouse operations. The role includes loading and unloading trucks, moving products to warehouse storage, handling waste, and operating powered industrial trucks. The position requires maintaining equipment and work areas, following standard operating procedures and OSHA safety standards, and supporting quality control. Work takes place in a fast-paced warehouse environment, which may involve occasional long or varied hours, mandatory physical inventory, extreme hot or cold conditions, and dusty conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Manual agility to operate machinery and handle small parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or more of related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Measure and accurately cut wire and cable of differing sizes and weights.
• Complete lot cards accurately using basic addition and subtraction.
• Perform quality control to ensure damaged product is not sent out or brought in.
• Verify equipment is safe and calibrated as needed.
• Verify and package products for shipping, including shrink-wrapping, boxing, and labeling.
• Stage products for loading.
• Load and unload products from trucks.
• Move wire and cable to warehouse rack storage and move waste to dumpsters as needed.
• Operate powered industrial trucks, including stand-up trucks, reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down propane forklifts.
• Complete daily powered industrial truck logs.
• Clean and maintain a safe work area.
• Follow standard operating procedures and OSHA safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
