About The Position

The Wine Shop Merchandiser helps ensure products are received accurately, shelves are stocked, displays are built, and merchandise is available to customers. The role also supports customers with product locations and basic wine pairings, learns the store’s exclusive wines and focus items, and assists with register coverage and other store operations. Must be available for closing shifts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Entry-level position.
• Passion for the wine and spirits industry and genuine interest in the products sold.
• Energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to work in any area of the store where assistance is needed.
• Pride in grooming standards and a commitment to providing customers with a positive shopping experience.
• Must be available for closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and build displays.
• Safely operate equipment such as hand trucks, u-boats, conveyors, and forklifts where necessary.
• Assist with inventory and store moves.
• Sign off on purchase orders as deliveries arrive and ensure their accuracy.
• Place products throughout the store.
• Help keep the store clean, including cleaning break areas and restrooms, collecting carts, and stocking bags and register materials.
• Learn the store’s exclusive wines and focus items.
• Operate the register and cover other areas of the store as needed.
• Assist customers in locating products and provide basic wine-pairing assistance.
• Greet customers warmly and help create a welcoming, memorable shopping experience.
• Collaborate with team members and follow safety procedures.
• Represent the store’s S.T.E.W. values positively in interactions with customers and team members.
