NCIS Windows Systems Administrator | Active Top Secret clearance
About The Position
GDIT is hiring a Windows Systems Administrator to support the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) mission in Quantico, Virginia. The role administers and maintains Windows server environments and provides systems, application, hardware, and user support across multiple enclaves in a government installation. The position is hybrid, with three days onsite and two days remote each week. The administrator manages Windows Server 2019 and 2022 systems, performs patching, monitors system environments and resources, and oversees system recovery mechanisms. The role also supports Active Directory and LDAP accounts and groups, MDM solutions, enterprise networks, and application software. It requires troubleshooting issues independently, coordinating and escalating changes and major problems, and documenting work in ServiceNow. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI, U.S. citizenship, at least five years of related experience, a CompTIA Security+ CE certification, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or an IT-related field.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.
- U.S. citizenship.
- At least 5 years of experience in Windows systems administration, general computer systems and network administration, and user support.
- Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025.
- Experience supporting Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
- Experience with NGEN IT infrastructure and enterprise-class networks.
- Ability to administer user accounts and device associations in Active Directory.
- Experience deploying DISA STIG controls and maintaining system compliance.
- Prior experience installing, operating, configuring, and maintaining multiple types of business and end-user application software in a large government installation.
- Experience with one or more of the following: domain controllers, Active Directory, DNS servers, DHCP, and Group Policy Object.
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or an IT-related field.
Responsibilities
- Administer, manage, and maintain Windows Server 2019 and 2022.
- Perform Windows Server patching in an operational environment.
- Create, manage, and maintain accounts and groups in Active Directory and LDAP.
- Monitor system environments and resources.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems with business applications and hardware across all enclaves.
- Oversee system recovery mechanisms.
- Resolve issues independently when possible.
- Coordinate and communicate required changes and escalate major issues.
- Diagnose and resolve computer-related problems for employees and contractors in person or using remote-control software.
- Respond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support.
- Document all work accurately in ServiceNow.
