About the position
We are looking for a full-time Software Engineer to join our team at Tailscale. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing the Tailscale product, with a focus on developing the Windows client and deploying it in large Windows Enterprise environments. As a fully remote company, we need someone who can work independently and collaborate with highly technical teams. The candidate should have experience with win32 and Enterprise features of large Windows deployments. Responsibilities
- Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to client code and backend services using Go.
- Focus on developing the Windows client, especially in the deployment in large Windows Enterprise environments.
- Have experience with win32 APIs and Enterprise features of large Windows deployments.
- Work as part of a team of engineers and designers to add features in the Tailscale service.
- Take a holistic view of the product, from customer needs to client applications to the admin console.
- Give and process constructive feedback and work independently.
- Adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup.
Requirements
- Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to client code and backend services using Go
- Bring a special focus on developing the Windows client, and especially in the deployment in large Windows Enterprise environments
- Experience with win32 is a must for the Tailscale Windows client
- Experience with Enterprise features of large Windows deployments including but not limited to Active Directory forests and Domain Controllers with multiple regional sites, deployment of software using SCCM and Endpoint Configuration Management, multiuser Windows systems, Group Policies and NRPT rules, Credential Guard and successfully use of Trusted Platform Modules, Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI), and Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC)
- Previous experience in #golang makes ramping up quicker
- Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently
- Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup
- Work as part of a team of engineers and designers to add features in the Tailscale service
- Take a holistic view of the product, from customer needs to client applications to the admin console
