About The Position

The Windows Engineer will be responsible for administering and monitoring Windows Server operating systems and services in a virtualized environment. This role involves handling backups, installations, upgrades, and configurations of system components and server software. The engineer will also be involved in scripting, participating in architectural design reviews, and providing advice on capacity management, contingency planning, and IT service continuity management. Additionally, the position requires problem definition, analysis, and resolution, as well as defining and updating technical documentation and operating procedures. The role includes implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures, providing 2nd line support, and participating in coordination and project meetings. The engineer will work in a secure isolated/tiered environment and may be involved in provisioning Virtual Machines in Vmware or Nutanix environments, as well as DevOps operations in Azure.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant IT professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position in relevant IT roles
  • Required Microsoft Windows Server related certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in administration of Windows Server 2016 or later based systems in a virtualized environment
  • Experience in administration of complex IT systems and distributed environments
  • Good knowledge of network protocols: SMTP, NTP, DNS, LDAP, DHCP
  • Hands-on experience in networking, security and systems services for Microsoft Windows Server OS
  • Solid scripting skills in PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • A proactive attitude, team-work spirit, being self-motivated with a strong user orientation
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to cope with fast changing technologies

Responsibilities

  • Providing 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinating with 3rd line of support
