About The Position

The Virtualization Engineer will be responsible for administering and operating a virtual computing environment, primarily based on VMware vSphere. This role involves managing monitoring solutions, performing patch management, handling backup and restore operations, and supporting hardware servers, fibre-optic fabrics, and data storage systems. The engineer will also be involved in troubleshooting, tuning, optimization, capacity planning, and implementing best practices and security standards within virtualization environments. Additionally, the role requires updating technical documentation, implementing changes according to ICT procedures, providing 2nd-line support, and participating in coordination and project meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in administering complex, large‑scale virtualized environments, including VMware vSphere and/or Nutanix platforms.
  • Practical experience with monitoring tools for virtual environments, such as VMware Aria Operations or equivalent solutions.
  • Experience performing updates, upgrades, and lifecycle management of virtualization platforms and related components.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including basic concepts related to virtual networking.
  • Experience working in multi‑team operational environments, collaborating with different support and infrastructure teams.
  • Practical experience with ticketing systems and ITIL‑based processes, including change, configuration, and release management.

  • Good organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proactive attitude with strong teamwork spirit and high level of self-motivation.

  • Minimum English language skills (CEFR): B2.
  • Minimum IT relevant professional experience (years): 5.
  • Minimum experience at similar position (years): 2.

Nice To Haves

  • VMware VCP-DCV 6.x or higher (or related similar certification).
  • Nutanix Certified Professional – Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI).
  • Proven experience with VMware vSAN.
  • Proven experience with HPE SAN Storage arrays, such as HPE Primera.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-changing technical environments.
