About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Winder Operator in North Vernon, Indiana. The position pays a starting rate of $16.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $1.50-per-hour night-shift premium. The available shift is 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The Winder Operator works with take-up equipment and resin material to produce quality film rolls. The role includes inspecting and documenting product quality, following safety procedures, removing and preparing finished rolls, and weighing and recording scrap for recycling. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

Be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow all job safety analyses (JSAs) and safety procedures and policies.
Load cores and journals onto take-up equipment.
Web, pull, and maintain resin material to produce quality film onto rolls.
Inspect roll quality before production begins and continuously check production-line quality.
Properly document quality inspections.
Check that all safety guards are in place and working properly according to procedure.
Cut lines that have lost air or are of poor quality.
Remove rolls promptly from lines that have stopped or finished runs.
Label, package, and stage finished rolls properly.
Weigh scrap tubs, record their weight, and send scrap to be recycled.
