About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Winder Machine Operator in Milesburg, Pennsylvania. The operator works with take-up equipment and resin material to produce quality film rolls, monitors production quality, follows safety procedures, documents inspections, and packages and stages finished product. The position requires 12-hour swing shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for one month, then rotating to 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. every other month, with overtime as required. Compensation is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

Eligible to work in the United States.
Successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Work overtime as required.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
Some machine operating experience.
Commitment to working safely and continuing to learn and develop.
Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow all job safety analyses (JSAs) and safety procedures and policies.
Load cores and journals onto take-up equipment.
Web, pull, and maintain resin material to produce quality film onto rolls.
Inspect roll quality before production begins and continuously check line quality during production.
Properly document quality inspections.
Check that all safety guards are in place and functioning according to procedure.
Cut lines that have lost air or are producing poor-quality material.
Remove rolls promptly from lines that have stopped or completed runs.
Label, package, and stage finished rolls properly.
Weigh scrap tubs, record their weight, and send them for recycling.
