Under the supervision of CA/Clinic Supervisor, WCS/Clinic Supervisor or designee, this position performs various tasks as needed. Tasks include encouraging and explaining the benefits of participation in the Summer Food Program while promoting WIC outreach within the community, maintaining a clean/healthy environment/eating area, and performing reception, clerical, and clinical duties. The employee will accurately document all time worked, explain to clients the benefits of the Summer Food Program and encourage participation, and actively hand out referrals and printed resources to other health and community services along with summer meals. This role requires following all instructions from Summer Food Service Training, providing WIC Services in a professional and courteous manner, establishing rapport with other organizations and the general public, engaging participants and explaining WIC benefits, preparing and cleaning the site for daily meals, maintaining a clean and healthy environment in the eating area, and traveling to other clinic sites as needed. The position also supports and promotes breastfeeding activities, handles phone duties such as appointment reminder calls or verifying Medicaid eligibility, and performs clinic/clerical duties such as gathering client paperwork, performing heights/weights, or handing out WIC EBT cards. Other duties include obtaining consent forms for texting, maintaining inventory counts, cleaning breast pumps, and putting nutrition education bulletin boards together. The role requires no vested financial interest in WIC and adherence to current Department of State Health Services Immunization Guidelines.
