About The Position
Children’s Friend is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and detail-oriented WIC Program Assistant to be the welcoming face and helpful hand for families navigating the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to create a lasting impact. As a WIC Program Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping families access essential nutrition services and community resources.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Bilingual Skills in Spanish required.
- At least one year of administrative support experience
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a medical or social services setting
- additional languages a plus!
- A heart for helping others and a passion for community health
Responsibilities
- Screening applicants for eligibility
- Providing program information and secondary nutrition education
- Performing basic health assessments like height, weight, and hemoglobin checks
- Connecting families with vital services such as housing, food banks, and healthcare
- Supporting WIC participants both in-person and over the phone
- Keeping our records and systems accurate and up to date
