Wholesale Insurance Accounting Manager

Acrisure•Great Neck, MA
•$120,000 - $150,000•Onsite

About The Position

Wholesure is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing insurance agency. The role supervises accounts payable and receivable, reviews agency billing accounting operations, oversees commission revenue reporting and reconciliations, and manages a small accounting support team that includes external and overseas resources. The manager provides guidance, resolves operational issues, improves workflows, and ensures accurate financial processing while remaining involved in daily accounting work. Specialized wholesale insurance experience is required, including program business, E&S lines, commission accounting, carrier and MGA relationships, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on management role focused on leading accounting operations, solving problems, improving processes, and supporting a team—not a high-level executive role focused primarily on strategy and presentations. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and revenue reporting.

  • Experience coordinating with carriers to resolve accounting and commission discrepancies.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff and consultants.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Administrative and process-improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools to modernize accounting and back-office processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Excellent knowledge of operational and financial accounting.
  • Experience with Applied Epic or a similar insurance agency management system.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Hands-on management experience leading and developing accounting staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
  • Minimum four years of accounting experience, including receivables and payables.
