Hometowne COC Wholesale Dispatch Manager
About The Position
The Wholesale Dispatch Manager is responsible for the daily dispatching and management of the wholesale transport operation. This includes coordinating product supply, transport schedules, driver assignments, and daily dispatch operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of products to company and customer locations. The role also manages transport fleet maintenance, inventory, fuel allocation, market and freight analysis, vendor and customer relationships, and wholesale budget and P&L compliance. The manager may need to coordinate urgent transport or supply issues outside normal business hours and support the Campbell supply team as needed.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch and manage transport drivers and support staff on a daily basis.
- Manage the transport fleet, including preventative maintenance and vehicle repairs.
- Ensure compliance with DOT and safety requirements.
- Manage bulk plant and keep-fill customer inventory.
- Manage and plan fuel allocation.
- Review market trends against current inventory costs to support pricing decisions.
- Participate in purchase and timing communications for fuel products, including LP and fuel contracts, daily deals, and preloads.
- Manage vendor, carrier, and customer relationships and communications, serving as the primary contact.
- Coordinate with sales to align customer commitments with delivery capabilities.
- Analyze freight tables, routes, pull points, and carrier rates to identify opportunities to improve margins and efficiency.
- Ensure wholesale budget and P&L compliance.
- Review inventory discrepancies and coordinate their resolution with operations and accounting.
- Coordinate urgent transport or supply issues outside normal business hours as needed.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and managers to overcome supply challenges and shortages.
- Promote a positive culture and team environment.
- Coordinate with and support the Campbell supply team as needed.
