Wet Side Operator
About The Position
Cargill is hiring a Wet Side Operator for its Food Enterprise salt manufacturing and packaging facility. The role involves operating equipment using computerized controls and physical adjustments, testing product quality, troubleshooting equipment, and operating brine well systems. Operators are expected to follow safety rules and maintain a safe, clean work environment. This is a full-time weekend-shift position, with a schedule of either Thursday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, or Thursday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Compensation is $33.18 per hour, with a $1,500 sign-on bonus. Relocation reimbursement is not included.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform physical job duties that may include bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, while using personal protective equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with advance notice.
- Ability and willingness to work night shifts.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma/GED or at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience operating pumps and boilers.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or similar equipment.
- Prior production experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment safely, correctly, and efficiently using computerized controls and physical adjustments in a salt manufacturing and packaging facility.
- Perform product quality testing and housekeeping tasks.
- Troubleshoot equipment to support efficient and consistent operation.
- Operate brine well systems, including injection pumps, storage tanks, and valves.
- Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
