Wellness Instructor - Restorative CNA - PRN
About The Position
Aegis Therapies is hiring a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to work with the Rehab Therapy Team at the Lamun-Lusk Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Texas. The role provides wellness, fitness, and exercise programs and assists with restorative care under the direction of the therapy team. Restorative training is provided onsite, and prior restorative experience is not required; current CNA certification is required. The position has exclusive restorative responsibilities, including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care. It involves limited or none of the less desirable tasks often associated with CNA work. Aegis’s EnerG wellness programs use an individualized, results-driven approach based on seven dimensions of wellness to support health and happiness. This PRN position offers flexible hours in a rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, and senior-care wellness setting. The role reports to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and works exclusively with the therapy team. Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist, or similar area.
- Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Provide wellness, fitness, and exercise programs with the Rehab Therapy Team.
- Assist with restorative care of patients as directed.
- Perform restorative activities including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care.
- Work exclusively with the therapy team to provide relevant knowledge and expertise.
