About The Position

Aegis Therapies is hiring a CNA/Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to work with the rehabilitation therapy team in a rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, or senior care wellness setting in Emporia, Kansas. This PRN role covers a leave of absence through December, with up to full-time hours during the coverage period.

The CNA/Wellness Instructor works exclusively with the therapy team to provide wellness, fitness, and exercise programs. Onsite restorative training is provided, and prior restorative experience is not required. Responsibilities focus on restorative care activities, including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care. The role has limited or no involvement in other tasks commonly associated with CNA positions.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Specialty certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist, or in a similar area.
• Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations.

Responsibilities

• Work exclusively with the rehabilitation therapy team to provide appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Assist with restorative care of patients as directed.
• Provide restorative activities including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care.
