Wellness Instructor - Restorative CNA - PRN
About The Position
Aegis Therapies is hiring a CNA/Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to work with the Rehab Therapy Team at the Lamun-Lusk Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Texas. The position provides wellness, fitness, and exercise programs and assists with restorative care as directed by the therapy team. The role has exclusive restorative responsibilities, including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint and prosthesis care. It involves limited or no less desirable tasks that often accompany a CNA position. Full restorative training is provided onsite; restorative experience is not necessary, but CNA certification is required. Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialty certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist, or in a similar area.
- Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs in collaboration with the therapy team.
- Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
- Perform restorative activities including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint and prosthesis care.
