About The Position

The Wellness Director (Director of Nursing) leads and manages the clinical team and day-to-day clinical services in a more complex assisted living community. The role ensures residents’ healthcare needs are met, that residents are treated with respect and dignity, and that care remains high quality as their needs change. The Director builds relationships with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers to coordinate personalized care, and collaborates with community leadership to support resident and family satisfaction. The position supervises, coaches, and provides leadership to licensed nurses and other direct care staff, and may lead an additional clinical leadership team of up to five members. Community role complexity is determined using factors such as size, product lines, medication-management regulations, assessment requirements, licensure requirements, state regulatory complexity, and skilled services requiring an RN. Brookdale provides nurse leaders with a structured six-week orientation, online resources, local nurse mentors, ongoing collaborative support, and professional development opportunities.
