About The Position

This position is for a Welding Teacher at West Milford High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will be responsible for classroom instruction and guidance in the welding lab, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment. The role involves demonstrating various welding techniques, preparing instructional materials, and working with different materials and processes. Effective communication with students in both English and Spanish is required, along with strict enforcement of safety procedures.

Requirements

Holds a New Jersey Instructional Welding (2543) Certification
Strong knowledge of welding theory, welding code requirements, and certification standards
Demonstrated commitment to workplace and lab safety, including the ability to follow and enforce safety protocols
Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds, skill levels, and learning needs
Completion of a background check will be required

Responsibilities

Classroom teacher assignment implemented per adopted job description.
Assist with student instruction in both the classroom and welding lab
Guide and support student learning in a safe, structured environment
Demonstrate welding, cutting, fitting, and fabrication techniques
Prepare materials and projects for instruction
Weld, fabricate, cut, and visually inspect welds on a variety of materials and processes
Work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Facilitate workshop sessions as needed
Communicate clearly with students in both English and Spanish
Enforce all shop and lab safety procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
