About The Position
Newton Community School District is looking for Substitute Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Full day or half day shifts are available. An online system is used for substitutes to select jobs that match their availability. Substitute employees will be notified of available substitute assignments on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent staff. Hours and the frequency of assignments will vary depending on district staffing needs, employee absences, and the substitute's availability.
Requirements
- Current Iowa licensure (Teacher/Substitute License/Substitute Authorization) required.
- Copy of your Iowa Teaching License
- Copy of Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Certificate
- Transcripts from University/College
Nice To Haves
- Long Term Rate begins on Day 21 of a consecutive day assignment for the same classroom - $25.98/hour. (This requires a Teacher or Substitute License.)
