About The Position

Substitute Teachers Join our team of dedicated Substitute Teachers who help ensure continuity in student learning every day. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and qualified candidates will be contacted to schedule a virtual interview. Lake County Schools is seeking reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to provide instructional support in the absence of regular classroom teachers. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, following lesson plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone or internet access to be able to accept and decline positions daily
• Successful completion of background screening and any required clearances (Fingerprint Cost - $82.00. Drug Screening cost - $20.00)
• Minimum work requirement of 4 or more days per month

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with children, students, or in an educational setting preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular classroom teacher
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
• Take attendance
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other school settings as assigned
• Adapt to various grade levels and subject areas as needed
• Communicate effectively with school administrators and staff
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all students
• Follow district policies, procedures, and professional standards
