About The Position

This is a part-time Adjunct faculty position at Chattahoochee Technical College, primarily assigned to the Appalachian location. The instructor will work under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Computers, Engineering & Manufacturing and the Dean of Business and Technical Studies. The role involves providing instruction and guidance to prepare students with the technical competencies essential for a welding technician. Duties include lecture, lab activities, student advisement, evaluating student progress, maintaining documentation, and supervising lab setup/takedown while ensuring safety requirements. Adjunct instructors are hired on a per-academic-term basis, and employment is limited with no expectation of extension beyond the term.

Requirements

A minimum of a Diploma in Welding Technology from a Technical or Community College.
Applicant must meet the minimum requirements before scheduling an interview.
Applicant is responsible for ensuring official/unofficial transcripts are on Ga@Work.
Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Nice To Haves

An Associate Degree in a related field.
Two years industry experience in welding field and/or relevant training certifications.

Responsibilities

Providing guidance and instruction necessary to prepare students with the technical competencies essential as a welding technician.
Perform all aspects of instruction as an adjunct instructor for the Welding Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) and/or Diploma program.
Lecture, lab, instructional activities, student advisement, evaluating students’ progress, maintaining all required documentation.
Performs, and/or supervises lab set up/take down and ensures lab safety requirements.
Other duties as defined by The Technical College System of Georgia.
