About The Position

Under general supervision, instruct students in Engineering Technology skill areas. Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives. Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Respond in a timely manner to administrative requests. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students. Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate. Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication. Contribute to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports. Demonstrate general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel). Assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in a position related to engineering technology.
  • Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • More than three (3) years of work experience in a position related to engineering technology.
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing and/or quality control.
  • Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
  • Strong academic and work experience in civil engineering.
