About The Position

Jefferson Community College, located in Watertown, New York, is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to join its Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering Department. The college is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves students in credit courses for transfer or career purposes, as well as offering professional development and personal enrichment workshops. This position will involve instructing lecture and laboratory courses within the first two years of an engineering science program. These courses may include engineering fundamentals, computer-aided design and drafting, engineering design and build, statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Education or a closely related field.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to foster inclusion and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest and/or experience with robotics and UAV's.
  • Experience teaching in various modalities.
  • Ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree may be sufficient in extraordinary cases.

Benefits

  • Level A - $665/credit hour
  • Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson
