About The Position

SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract with potential of further extension. The role is responsible for performing dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts. The inspector will perform dimensional inspections using simple equipment like tape measures, calipers, and gauges provided by the client. The client will provide test sheets and drawings with dimensions for verification. The inspector will verify the part against the drawing, perform measurements, and document results. There may be some paperwork involved, along with visual inspection, dimensional inspection, paperwork, and organizing.

Requirements

AWS CWI or API 510 certification.
Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
Five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections.
Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc.
Experience in inspecting welds on various manufactured products (e.g., pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other equipment).
Experience in witnessing NDE tests (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc.) and verifying test reports.

Responsibilities

Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.
Perform dimensional inspection using tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
Verify parts against drawings and perform measurements.
Document inspection results, including any issues found.
Record inspection results and any non-conformities.
Investigate Non-Conformities, identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.
