Welding Inspector - Cleveland - 1 month contract
About The Position
SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract in Cleveland, OH with potential of further extension. The role is responsible for performing dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts. The inspector will perform dimensional inspections using simple equipment like tape measures, calipers, and gauges provided by the client. The inspector will verify parts against client-provided test sheets and drawings, perform measurements, and document results. This may involve paperwork, visual inspection, dimensional inspection, and organizing tasks. The role also includes preparing detailed reports, recording inspection results and non-conformities, investigating non-conformities by identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions, and communicating effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.
Requirements
- At least one of the following: AWS CWI or API 510
- Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
- Five (5) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections
- Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
- Experienced in inspecting welds on various manufactured products eg. pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment
- Experienced in witnessing NDE test (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc..) and verifying test reports.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.
- Perform dimensional inspection using tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
- Verify parts against test sheets and drawings, perform measurements, and document results.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found.
- Record inspection results and any non-conformities.
- Investigate Non-Conformities, identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.
Benefits
- Pay Rate: $45 / hr. to $50 / hr.
- Per diems: to be discussed
