About The Position

SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract with potential of further extension. The role is responsible for performing dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts. The inspector will perform dimensional inspections using simple equipment like tape measures, calipers, and gauges provided by the client. The client will provide test sheets and drawings with dimensions for verification. The role involves verifying parts against drawings, performing measurements, documenting results, and potentially some paperwork, visual inspection, and organizing. The inspector will also prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found, and record inspection results and non-conformities. Investigating Non-Conformities, identifying causes, and assisting in corrective actions are also key responsibilities. The ability to communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel is essential.

Requirements

  • At least one of the following: AWS CWI or API 510
  • Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
  • Five (5) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections
  • Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
  • Experienced in inspecting welds on various manufactured products eg. pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment
  • Experienced in witnessing NDE test (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc..) and verifying test reports.

Responsibilities
