About The Position

SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract with potential of further extension. The role involves performing dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts. The inspector will conduct dimensional inspections using simple equipment like tape measures, calipers, and gauges provided by the client. The inspector will verify parts against client-provided test sheets and drawings, perform measurements, and document results. Responsibilities include preparing detailed reports, recording inspection results and non-conformities, investigating non-conformities to identify causes and assist in corrective actions, and communicating effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel. Some paperwork and organizing may also be involved.

Requirements

At least one of the following: AWS CWI or API 510
Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
Five (5) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections.
Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
Experienced in inspecting welds on various manufactured products eg. pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment.
Experienced in witnessing NDE test (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc..) and verifying test reports.

Responsibilities

Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.

Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found.
Record inspection results and any non-conformities.
Investigate Non-Conformities, identify causes, and assist in corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.
