About The Position
Contech is hiring a Welder for its plant in Alexandria, Minnesota. The role contributes to infrastructure projects involving drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management. The Welder reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures; marks and lays out materials; aligns and assembles products for welding; and uses cutting or plasma torches to cut materials to a precise layout. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG and stick welding.
- Ability to work with precision instruments.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Technical training or welding experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
- Use templates, patterns, scribes, and similar tools to mark and lay out material.
- Align and assemble products for welding using cranes, lever hoists, chains, and similar equipment.
- Use a cutting or plasma torch to burn to a precision layout.
- Adhere to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
