Requirements

Minimum 3 years of welding structural steel experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to operate overhead cranes.
Current or past AWS certification for FCAW, MCAW.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.
Organization skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
Communication skills–both written and oral.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Ability to read and follow verbal instructions.
Must have good math skills and be able to add or subtract feet, inches and fractions.
Must pass 1 inch thick 2-G welder qualification.
Must pass tack welder qualification (visual macro break test).
Ability to use carbon air-arc for back gouging.
