About The Position

The Container Welder/Fabricator repairs, paints, and maintains front, rear, and roll-off containers and roll-off boxes. The role welds and fabricates steel and aluminum components, cuts steel, installs container hardware and decals, and completes required paperwork. The employee follows safety policies and procedures, refers more complex repairs to the Supervisor, and performs other job-related duties as assigned. The listed pay range is $22.40 to $30.80; the actual range depends on the locality in which the employee is hired. Eligible employees may elect to participate in the benefits programs described in the posting.

Requirements

Certified welder.
Minimum of 1 year of welding experience or completion of a welding program.
Advanced knowledge of MIG and stick welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
Familiarity with basic use of hand tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain front, rear, and roll-off containers.
Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers, and compactors.
Install lids and wheels on containers.
Paint repaired containers.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Complete required paperwork.
Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes according to the company standard diagram.
Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
