Welder - 2nd Shift

About The Position

Kewaunee Fabrications, an Oshkosh Corporation company, is hiring motivated and experienced welders to work with steel and/or aluminum. Welders use specified processes to fabricate parts to blueprints, position components with fixtures, and complete finishing and documentation work while maintaining quality and safety standards. The role is on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with a paid lunch. Voluntary overtime is available before or after the shift. Starting pay is $26.75 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour for aluminum and robotic welding and a $1.00 per hour shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Wages progress every six months until top pay and annually thereafter. A full benefits package is available after 30 days.

Requirements

Previous metal fabrication and/or welding experience.
Basic blueprint-reading and mechanical skills.
Experience with at least one welding process and ability to obtain AWS D1.1 certification.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds; lifting devices are available.
Willingness to perform cleaning, grinding, and weld preparation work.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, technical training, or equivalent education.
One or more years of welding or metal fabrication experience.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

Weld steel and/or aluminum parts to blueprints using MIG, TIG, FCAW, or SMAW processes.
Use fixtures to position components and control distortion.
Perform grinding, cleaning, and deburring as needed.
Complete required job paperwork and labor documentation.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Perform self-inspections and adhere to quality standards.
Support preventative maintenance and assist coworkers as needed.
