About The Position

A Welder or Welder Trainee provides welding support as part of a team assembling standard and/or special service bodies and small parts. The role welds structural aluminum and galvanized steel components according to blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions, and helps ensure finished work meets established quality guidelines. The position may involve working at multiple welding stations to fill staffing needs.

Requirements

• Ability to pass tape measure testing.

Nice To Haves

• Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, if applicable to the line.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural aluminum and galvanized steel components according to blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to achieve the required configuration and positions for welding.
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
• Complete inline quality inspections and maintain weld quality according to established guidelines.
• Complete welding station tasks within established takt time, if applicable.
• Cross-train on multiple welding workstations and perform tasks at multiple stations as needed to fill staffing gaps.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools, including welding equipment.
