About The Position
Fabricate misc. steel pipe and mechanical supports according to shop drawings or engineering details utilizing FCAW or SMAW welding processes and performing these duties in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible.
Requirements
- AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Certification with FCAW and SMAW
- Pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to perform overhead (4G) welding.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) or SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding).
- Perform welds in flat (1G), horizontal (2G), and vertical (3G) positions.
- Read and understand shop fabrication drawings.
- Read and understand engineering details.
- Ability to fabricate and assemble weldments from shop drawings and sketches.
- Weldments will be in conformance with AWS D1.1
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
- Operate Various Equipment and Machinery (Grinders, Saws, Drill Press, Forklift, etc.)
- Keep a Clean and Organized Workplace
- Utilize personal protective equipment such as masks, welding helmets, welding sleeves, gloves, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.
- Confidently convert fractions to decimal equivalents on the spot as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace.
