About The Position

This position is part of the LCAC 100 Program. The Welder is responsible for all welding, brazing and metal fabrication on base in support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base.

Requirements

  • High School Degree Required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance required
  • A NAVSEA welding/brazing qualification required
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar position
  • Experience and knowledge in S9074 familiarity
  • Hot work safety knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
  • Ability to install, assemble, and configure new mechanical or refrigeration systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and fix issues
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with general maintenance staff
  • Ability to work with various levels of personnel
  • Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication for all aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, piping, pressure vessels, hulls/craft components and structures
  • Support craft repair, fabrication, altercations, depot repair, shop and production requirements
  • Perform fit-up, repairs, modifications and inspections on all metal structures and pressure vessels
  • Ability to take on new assignments with general instructions
  • Apply industry knowledge to various programs and projects ensuring successful completion
  • Use knowledge of industry standard policies, procedures and practical applications to complete job tasks
  • Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
