About The Position

Perform routine welding work on HVAC units according to blueprints, company standards, and applicable standards to meet inspection criteria and defined requirements. The role involves setting up and maintaining welding machines, inspecting and cleaning welds, using tools, and carrying out basic equipment maintenance. The position is based in a manufacturing environment with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure. The employee must be able to stand for prolonged periods—up to 95% of the workday—and lift up to 50 pounds. Duties may change, and additional functions may be assigned. Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience as a welder.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols.
• Process knowledge and experience to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines.
• Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must pass the required welding certification test.
• Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods, up to 95% of the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.
• Welding certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine welding tasks on HVAC units.
• Set up and maintain welding machines, including tips and liners, and weld in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
• Inspect welds for cracks, burn-through, and weld spatter.
• Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools as required.
• Grind and clean areas where required.
• Stay current in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and perform basic mechanical adjustments on equipment as needed.
• Follow hazardous waste disposal and fire prevention procedures.
