About The Position

BlueScope is hiring a Welder to join its team fabricating and repairing metal into high-quality components. The role welcomes both experienced welders and people eager to learn, and offers hands-on training and opportunities for professional development. The work is performed Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with some overtime required. Pay starts at $28.60 per hour, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $1,500 after 90 days and $1,500 at the one-year mark.

The position involves interpreting technical documents, preparing and welding parts, handling materials, checking quality, and maintaining equipment and organized work areas. Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts into complete units or subunits according to blueprints and layout specifications, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts safely as needed.
• Use measuring tools and processes to inspect work before, during, and after production and ensure materials meet specifications.
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Track material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, including 5-S practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
